Australian Prime minister, Mr Anthony Albanese's visit to India coincided with the announcement that Indian citizens seeking higher education and employment in Australia will have their educational qualifications like master's degree, graduate degree and secondary school certificate from Indian universities cross recognised in Australia.
Indian Government also made an announcement regarding similar arrangement for Australian citizens.
This reciprocal arrangement will increase movement of Indian students and graduates as well as Australian students and graduates moving across both regions with increased employment arrangements in both countries.
Indian doctors seeking employment or postgraduate training in Australia will face less early hurdles in seeking eligibility to complete Australian Medical Council examinations which allows them to register as medical practitioners with Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Authority ( AHPRA) .
This arrangement opens the door for increased employment of Indian doctors in rural and regional Australia working alongside Australian doctors and improving access to healthcare for Australians living in regional, rural and remote areas.
